Together for Each Other

In order to enhance the protection of human rights within the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and introduce innovative services, our project 'Together for Each Other' was implemented from 2021 to 2022. The primary objective was to develop a social service that caters to the specific needs of ex-prisoners and probationers, focusing on their rehabilitation, resocialization, and effective crime prevention. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the National Probation Agency.

Drawing on successful examples from other countries, we integrated ex-prisoners and probationers with disabled individuals as part of the project, resulting in their improved rehabilitation and resocialization. Our ultimate aim was to create equal opportunities and conditions for ex-prisoners, probationers, and disabled youth, particularly in terms of employment. Additionally, we aimed to develop a social service that meets their specific needs, working closely with the National Probation Agency to enhance vocational training, labor arrangements, and social adaptation.

One of our key tasks was to reduce the risk of reoffending by providing psycho-social rehabilitation for ex-prisoners and probationers upon their release from penitentiary institutions. We implemented various activities and services that were crucial in preventing them from committing crimes again. By offering psychological support, counseling, theoretical and practical woodcarving skills training, on-site learning opportunities, professional retraining courses, and employment assistance, we aimed to help these individuals overcome the challenges of rehabilitation and reintegrate into society.
