"Skhivi"s Social Support for Employment of People with Disabilities
The mission of Skhivi - Irakli's Wooden Workshop is to work on the development of knowledge and competencies of people with disabilities that will ensure their labor efficiency, competitiveness and access to the labor market and employment through support. The social goal is to promote independent living of people with intellectual disabilities and psychosocial needs through vocational training, employment and strengthening their families. Activities are wood carving, making ecologically clean wooden educational toys and souvenirs. People with intellectual disabilities are the most vulnerable group, who have the most difficulty in finding employment, they need alternative support services, based on the functional approach principle, based on the strengths of the individual, division of work into operations based on the assessment of a multidisciplinary team, vocational training, supported employment and thus entrance in the labor market
