The Tbilisi Botanical Garden, officially known as the National Botanical Garden of Georgia, is located in Tbilisi, south of the Sololaki Ridge, in the valley of the Tsavkisistskali River (Legvtakhevi). It is bordered by the Sololaki Ridge from the north, the cliffs of Mount Tabor from the south, the Kojori Highway to the northwest, and Tbilisi's oldest districts, Abanotubani and Kharpukhi, to the southeast. To the east, the garden is flanked by the Narikala Fortress and fragments of the old royal garden.

The Tbilisi Botanical Garden is a remarkable place for relaxation and unwinding, as well as for those interested in extreme sports, rock climbing, and science. It features a wide variety of roses, a lilac collection, coniferous plants, a Japanese garden, a beautiful waterfall, bridges nestled in trees, and fountains. The garden is equipped with pavilions for relaxation, walking paths among flowering gardens, and a belvedere offering panoramic views of the Botanical Garden. There are also cafes, a museum, and event spaces, as well as a children\u2019s area with swings and other entertainment. Visitors can even zipline from Narikala Fortress down to the garden. For active sports enthusiasts, there is also a climbing wall.

The Botanical Garden offers several interesting tours, such as educational tours, children\u2019s routes, cycling routes, and electric vehicle tours. As one of Tbilisi\u2019s most beautiful locations, the Botanical Garden boasts a variety of flowering gardens, tree-lined paths, ponds with water lilies, exotic plants, waterfalls, and charming little bridges, creating an attractive environment that is immensely popular. The garden\u2019s collection includes around 3,500 species, varieties, and cultivars. The National Botanical Garden of Georgia houses a greenhouse for tropical plants, a nursery, and six scientific research departments.

\nIt was an unforgettable, impression-filled day for the young people of our day center. A huge thanks to the administration of the Tbilisi Botanical Garden and the wonderful guide for their warm hospitality and support.

\nHistory of Tbilisi Botanical Garden
\nIn the 17th and 18th centuries, there were three small gardens on the current territory of the Botanical Garden, which belonged to the Georgian royal court. According to the writings of the French traveler Jean-Baptiste Chardin, the royal garden was particularly well-maintained by Queen Mariam, the wife of George XII, the last king of Kartli-Kakheti. After Georgia\u2019s annexation by Russia, the garden became state property, and in 1845, by order of Count Mikhail Vorontsov, it was designated a botanical garden. From 1896 to 1904, the garden expanded westward. Between 1932 and 1958, the former Muslim cemetery area was added, including the right bank of the Tsavkisistskali River and the northeastern slope of Mount Tabor.

Currently, the garden spans 97 hectares and hosts a rich collection of flora from Georgia and other regions worldwide. The collection includes approximately 3,500 species, varieties, and cultivars. The National Botanical Garden of Georgia also contains a tropical plant greenhouse, a nursery, and six scientific research departments.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
