At the Irakli Kemoklidze Day Center, young people with disabilities, with the support of a teacher, learned to create handmade roses from felt. This activity was carried out using art therapy techniques and aimed to develop both creative and functional skills. Cutting, rolling, gluing and attaching details to felt develops finger coordination and hand precision.
The step-by-step assembly of a rose requires focus on the process, following instructions and patience. All this helps to improve concentration, sensory stimulation. The texture, colors and shapes of felt have a positive effect on sensory perception and calm the nervous system.
