Making handmade flowers from colored paper

A practical art lesson was held at the Irakli Kemoklidze Day Center, during which young people with disabilities made handmade flowers from colored paper. This therapy serves multiple therapeutic and educational purposes. Developing fine motor skills – cutting, folding, gluing and creating shapes from paper helps strengthen the muscles of the fingers and hands, improving movement accuracy and coordination. Strengthening concentration and attention – performing the work process step by step develops the ability to focus on the task, follow instructions and complete the task.
Stimulating creativity and imagination – choosing colors, creating flower shapes and designs enhances creative thinking and individual self-expression. Improving emotional well-being – artistic activities reduce stress, increase inner peace and a sense of joy when seeing their own hand-made work. Increasing self-esteem and a sense of achievement – a finished flower gives beneficiaries a sense of achievement, increases belief in their own abilities and motivation. Developing social skills – group work promotes communication, mutual assistance, sharing and adaptation to a team environment. This activity is not just a craft – it is a therapeutic process that simultaneously develops motor, cognitive, emotional and social skills
