"Association of People with Hearing, Speech, and Intellectual Impairments (IPA) - "IKA"

It was founded in 1997 by parents of children with disabilities. On February 6, 2021, the son of the founder of the organization, an active member of the organization, civil activist Irakli Kemoklidze passed away. In order to immortalize the memory of Irakli, from 2021, the organization bears his name "Ika".

The mission of the Association (IPA) - “IKA" is:

  • To create equal opportunities and conditions for people with disabilities, ensuring a dignified and independent life To integrate children and adults with disabilities into society through the use of inclusive teaching methods and participation in various cultural and sports events.

Furthermore, we promote the creation of equal conditions and opportunities in the field of vocational education and employment, the creation of multi-profile professional centers for social rehabilitation, social enterprises, protected and semi-protected workshops, the development of alternative social services tailored to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities, and the development of social entrepreneurship and employment of disabled people.

We advocate also for the changing of society's view and attitude towards the impossibility of employing disabled people.

The purpose of the Association (IPA) - “IKA" is:

The protection of the rights of not only hearing and speech, but also intellectual disability, mental difficulties, psycho-emotional, multiple disorders and physical disabilities, adults and their supporters, the promotion of full and harmonious development of disabled persons, education, arts, sports, professional education and employment Availability.
