@ikaassociation21 Therapy for the expression of emotions and feelings in persons with disabilities At the Irakli Kemoklidze Day Center, the psychologist's hour - group therapy was dedicated to the expression of emotions and feelings, the difference between them. Young people with disabilities were explained that emotions are instinctive responses to what is happening around them. Emotions push us towards physical action, feelings can be subjective and depend on a person's emotional experience. Therapy for the expression of emotions and feelings plays an important role in the development of their communication, self-expression and social skills in persons with disabilities. Difficulties in emotional self-expression can be caused by both physical and intellectual and psychosocial barriers, which is why it is necessary to use therapeutic methods adapted to them. During group therapy, emotion cards were used, which contain facial expressions and relevant texts, which helped persons with disabilities identify feelings and emotions. Situational examples were discussed and their supporting strategies were outlined. Group therapy has positive results, it will help identify and regulate emotions of people with disabilities, reduce anxiety, improve communication skills, and increase self-esteem. 🎭💬 Expressing Emotions & Feelings – Group Therapy in Action! 💬🎭 At the Irakli Kemoklidze Day Center, we dedicated a special psychologist-led group therapy session to understanding and expressing emotions. 💡 Our young participants learned the key difference: 🔹 Emotions are instinctive reactions to what happens around us, pushing us to act. 🔹 Feelings are shaped by personal experiences and can be more subjective. 💛 Many individuals with disabilities face challenges in emotional expression due to physical, intellectual, or psychosocial barriers. That's why adaptive therapeutic methods are essential! 🎨 How we did it: ✔️ Emotion Cards with facial expressions & descriptions helped in recognizing and naming emotions. ✔️ Real-life scenarios encouraged discussions on emotional responses. ✔️ Support strategies were developed to help manage emotions. ✨ The Impact? More confidence, reduced anxiety, improved communication, and stronger self-expression! Because everyone deserves to be heard and understood. 🤝💙 #EmotionalTherapy #InclusiveHealing #SelfExpression #FeelingsMatter ♬ original sound - ikaassociation21
